This isn’t curriculum. Why do I need this?

• The most important factor in a child’s education is the teacher, and it’s no different at home.  Whether your teach your child the core content or outsource subjects elsewhere, you still need to know how to manage the school day.  We built Homeschool Expert to teach parents how to teach. How to structure the day—especially with multiple ages at the same table. How to adapt curriculum to meet a child’s learning needs. How to build a meaningful social network for your kids and you. This course took decades of research and experience and condensed it all into a couple hours of super practical advice.

Can’t I just read some blogs and ask a homeschool friend to help me?

• Homeschooling is hard. There’s a lot of great how-to content layered in the vastness of the internet, but you have to track it down, sift through it, condense and shape it into some sort of plan, and experiment to see if it will work. Do you really want to experiment with your child’s education? Before Homeschool Expert, families spent anywhere from dozens to hundreds of hours trying to bootstrap their kids’ educations—and, not always successfully. We did the work so you wouldn’t have to. My school is providing a curriculum and video classes— why would I need this?

• Even with online school, it’s important to make sure you have the right structures and support in place for your child during the school day. No matter how you choose to school at home, it is crucial to realize that in some form you are now a teacher at home. While you may or may not be directing the content, you are directing the school day. Your direction is critical to making your child successful in school at home. To do that, you need to learn how to establish flexible schedules at home for your student, identify clear goals, create space for accountability and creativity, foster social engagement outside of learning, and look for ways to support yourself through the process. How to figure all that out? Easy. Is this for high school students? Elementary?

• Homeschool Expert helps parents with students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school. We provide age-specific recommendations throughout the video series to help families with students at all grade levels.
